Design Skills

When I’m not outside with my Irish Setter pup, I’m typing away at my desk, finding new ways to challenge what I know and love about design. My passion lies in finding unique, practical and beautiful ways for users to interact with digital spaces. I approach my projects with strategic insight, gathered from my years of experience, and a focus on people. My clients’ visions are at the heart of my efforts. My design practice involves design thinking, user experience strategy, semantic coding and time management.

I’m currently a Senior Web & Graphic Designer at Townsquare Interactive. Click here to download my resume.

I really really love what I do.

Experience
Senior Web and Graphic Designer Townsquare Interactive Jan. 2020-Present After fully mastering my day-to-day practice, I was promoted to Senior Designer. Now, I build client sites from scratch using HTML, CSS, JQuery and JavaScript. With the help of our CMS, I can produce around 4 websites per day. I play a big role in developing new layouts and templates for our design team to use (some of which can be viewed here). I’m periodically given “innovation days”, where I’m able to really play with the bones of our CMS and create features meant to engage our client’s users and generate leads. I am tasked with doing research to inform trainings for our 25-strong design team on design trends and coding best-practices. My most recent training on website footers can be found here.
Web and Graphic Designer Townsquare Interactive Dec. 2018-Jan. 2020 I came to Townsquare shortly after my brief run at Red Ventures and I never dreamed of sales again. Townsquare offers an incredible environment for new designers to learn via small, meaningful projects. My clients ranged from dog groomers to construction workers and everything in between. With my background in digital media from UVa, I was able to use my existing expertise in Adobe Suite programs to create custom logos, graphics and branding pages for my clients. Using an in-house CMS and front-end coding languages I slowly began to develop entire websites for clients.
Sales Associate | Digital Marketing Track Red Ventures Jul. 2018-Nov. 2018 After graduating from The University of Virginia in May 2018, I accepted my first real job at Red Ventures in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The company launched an experimental program wherein new hires worked partially as sales agents and partially as students of professional development in RV-centric corporate culture. The sessions were my first real introduction to web design as a career, and I opted to spend most of my time shadowing with designers. Unfortunately, the program was cut short because of funding. We were offered to stay on as full-time sales people but I was determined to begin my career as a designer.
